From Jazz In August Press Release: It is no longer news that Pedro Sousa is among the boldest and most intrepid of Portuguese jazz improvisers. Called on to play with Thurston Moore and a regular with the likes of Gabriel Ferrandini, capable of easily adapting to such diverse environments as dirty rock, deviant jazz and the exploration of noise, Pedro Sousa’s saxophone carries an almost libertarian notion of its possibilities. In this alliance with Pedro Lopes, who lives in Berlin, he establishes a dialogue based on electronic exploration, already tested with outstanding results under the name EITR (and documented by the challenging LP Trees Have Cancer, 2013).
